Wales are set to call up Robbie Savage - but only as their Mr Motivator. [LNB]Derby County midfielder Savage, 36, wants to come out of retirement and has offered his services to new national boss Gary Speed. [LNB]Rookie manager Speed, who also wants Ryan Giggs involved in the background, is expected to turn down Savage's approach and show his faith in Wales' youthful squad. [LNB]'Even if he didn't come back as a player then maybe there's room for him just to come down on a match day and tell some jokes. We just need more of those people about the squad.'[LNB] Savage won 39 caps for Wales but quit international football following a public fall-out with Speed's predecessor John Toshack in 2005.  [LNB]The new boss has already held talks with Giggs about having the Manchester United great in the new Wales coaching set-up.[LNB]'It would be great to get him involved in some respect,' said Speed. 'I spoke to him last week and we'll have to wait and see.'[LNB]Giggs, who is taking his coaching badges, succeeded Speed as Wales captain in 2004 before retiring from the international game three years later in order to prolong his club career.[LNB]Speed is also looking for an experienced coach to assist him, with Wales Under 21 boss Brian Flynn and Speed's right-hand man at Sheffield United, John Carver, potentially in the frame.[LNB] Getting up to Speed: Wales' new manager is centre of attention at his unveiling[LNB]'I want to bring the best people in for the sake of Welsh football,' continued the 41-year-old. 'I want a good coach to do the day-to-day coaching sessions on the training pitch whereas I do more team shape.[LNB]'Then I would like an experienced man behind me who has had experience at maybe Premier League and international football (level) because I'm relatively young.'[LNB]Speed's first match in charge will be the Nations Cup opener against the Republic of Ireland in Dublin on February 8.
