Rams to compete in Senior Cup

Derby and Chesterfield will compete in this season's Derbyshire Senior Cup. The county's two Football League clubs have not entered the competition in recent years, although last season's final was staged at the Rams' Pride Park stadium. "Hopefully, it will add a little bit to the competition," said Derbyshire Football Association chief executive Keith Compton. "I am not anticipating either club to put out their first team but there is nothing stopping them using players coming back from injury or reserve team players. "It will give the other clubs an opportunity and an incentive to play against these sides." Derby are expected to play any `home` ties at Belper Town's Christchurch Meadow ground, with Chesterfield set to use their new b2net Stadium. Both clubs have been given a bye to the third round, along with Alfreton, Belper Town, Buxton, Glapwell, holders Matlock and Mickleover Sports.
