Rams target promising youngsters
Ilkeston midfielder Ben Pringle is thought to be one of those players as the Championship outfit start planning for the future.
And Pearson told the Derby Evening Telegraph: "The manager [Nigel Clough] is creating an Under-21 development team that will play in the reserve league.
"We are going to be signing two or three promising young players on short-term contracts. They are lads who have a chance and it is with a view to seeing how they progress in the development team."
Meanwhile, chief executive Tom Glick confirmed the club would operate at a small profit this year, saying: "We are building for long-term success. We just need to put together a string of positive years and we are confident we will do that."
