Rams prepared to wait for Barker

The Seasiders last week rejected an offer in the region of £400,000 for their captain, who has a year remaining on his contract at Bloomfield Road. Barker remains a top transfer target for Nigel Clough and the Derby boss is expected to return with an improved offer. Rams chairman Adam Pearson told the Evening Telegraph: "They (Blackpool) have got their manager position to sort out. Only when that happens is the Barker matter likely to move on." Blackpool are poised to begin holding interviews to find a successor to Tony Parkes, the caretaker boss who guided the club to safety in the Championship this season.
