Rams pair in fitness race

Derby hope Jamie Ward and John Brayford will be fit to face Swansea. Both players sustained injuries during the defeat at Middlesbrough in midweek. Ward came off at half-time after complaining of a tight hamstring. The decision not to risk the on-loan striker in the second half prevented further damage and has given him a good chance of being involved on Saturday. Defender Brayford, who is Derby`s only ever-present this season, required lengthy treatment for an ankle knock at the Riverside but managed to complete the 90 minutes and trained on Wednesday. James Bailey resumed training this week after a groin problem and the midfielder could return to the squad after a seven-match absence. Defenders Dean Leacock (illness) and Russell Anderson (hamstring and calf) are also back in training but forward Tomasz Cywka (knee) is likely to remain on the sidelines as Derby look for a first home win in almost four months.
