Rams on lookout for new stopper

Derby are scouring the loan market for a goalkeeper after a double injury blow to first-choice stopper Stephen Bywater and his understudy Saul Deeney. Bywater strained a muscle behind his ribs during the defeat to Hull on Tuesday night and is expected to be out for around a fortnight, meaning he could miss as many as four matches. Deeney, who has acted as back-up for Bywater for the last two seasons, ruptured a shoulder tendon on Monday and is set for surgery that will keep him out for up to five months. Ross Atkins has been recalled from his loan spell at Tamworth to join fellow inexperienced youngster James Severn as the only available keepers on Derby`s books. Clough told the club`s official website: "After Saul`s injury we were close to getting a goalkeeper in before the Hull game, and it was just out luck that Stephen went down injured early on. "We are in the market for a new goalkeeper and on the case to have one in by the weekend."
