Rams: No Hoops bid for Commons

Celtic manager Tony Mowbray has made no secret of his admiration for Commons, and it had been reported that the Glasgow giants had made a £3.5million offer for the 25-year-old. However, a Derby spokesman said: "There has been no formal bid, but we are aware of interest from a number of clubs." Commons joined the Rams on a free transfer from East Midlands rivals Nottingham Forest last summer and scored seven goals in his first season at Pride Park, most notably in a 1-0 home win over Manchester United in the Carling Cup semi-final first leg in January. Commons was born in Mansfield but is able to represent Scotland through his grandparents.
