Rams new-boy eager to get started
The 24-year-old defender became Clough's first summer signing when he was plucked from the Rams boss's former club Burton on Monday.
The former Mansfield captain, who signed a one-year deal with the option of a further 12 months, is confident he can make an impact at Pride Park and is eager to get started.
He told the club's official website: "I could do with the season starting tomorrow so that I can get among the boys and show what I can do.
"Every time those gates open on the front of the training ground you grow an inch, you can see the badge and its fantastic.
"I've never had facilities like this before and I'm going to make the most of it to prove to people that I am a Championship player."
