Derby County's American attacking midfielder Conor Doyle will have to sta in the US after falling ill during Rams mini break in Miami

Rams attacking midfielder Conor Doyle could be out of action and stuck in the USA after falling ill at the weekend with appendicitis.

Doyle was celebrating his 21st Birthday on Saturday when he started to feel ill and was rushed into hospital at 2.30am where they discovered he had a nasty case of appendicitis. He underwent an operation to remove the appendix and has now returned to Dallas Texas, his home town to be looked after by his parents.

It is thought Conor will be unable to leave the USA for three to four weeks, while he recovers and is a blow to the Rams U21 side, where he is presently the leading scorer.
