The 27-year-old Scot will become a free agent in the summer and Rams boss Nigel Clough revealed that an agreement is close.[LNB]"We are quite a long way down the road with Stephen but there are just a couple of little details to sort out," said Clough. "We are a little bit concerned about his injury record and Stephen understands that.[LNB]"So it's just how we work that out as to the length of the contract and appearances and that sort of thing. But Stephen wants to stay and we want him to stay - that is always a good start."[LNB]Pearson has scored just two goals in 66 appearances since joining Derby from Celtic for £600,000 in January 2007.[LNB]One of his goals was the winner in the Championship play-off final against West Brom at Wembley in May 2007 that saw the Rams promoted back to the Premier League.[LNB][LNB][LNB]
