Derby County progress to the next round of the Cup thanks to an extra time winner

Derby County took on and beat seven times FA Youth Cup winners Arsenal at Barnets 'Underhill' Stadium.

Arsenal had talented youngsters from around Europe in their team and with the Rams having seven first year students in their starting line up, they were very much the underdogs in this tie.

Despite periods of dominance by the Gunners it was Derby County who finally scored the all important and winning goal in extra time. Kane Richards robbing an Arsenal defender before planting an angled shot inside the post.

The 3rd round victory underlines the progress by the Darren Wassell's Academy in the last year, with Mason Bennett Mark O'Brien and Callam ball all progressing through to the first team and others waiting in the wings for their chance...
