The 29-year-old was heavily linked with a deadline-day move to Middlesbrough until County issued a statement saying that he would not be leaving Pride Park. Further reports have circulated since, though, suggesting that Hulse may now move on loan, with a view to moving permanently in January. "I don't see that - how would it benefit us?" Clough told the Derby Telegraph. "Our policy has always been that if we get a big offer of significant value for a player then we will look at it. "So I don't see how letting Rob out on loan would benefit us." Clough does accept that he may have to deal with the issue in January, though, adding: "If it rears its head again in January, then we will deal with it. That is the obvious time as well because Chris Porter will be fit around then and we'll know a little bit more about where we are in the league."
