Nosworthy injury curse keeps him out of Sunderland relegation fight

Nyron Nosworthy has been ruled out for Sunderland's remaining five mathces of the season.

The Jamaica defender has suffered his third hamstring injury of the campaign, meaning he will miss the Wearsiders' fight for survival.

He pulled out of Wednesday night's reserves game at Derby after a recurrence of the injury which has kept him out for nearly two months.

Sunderland are four points above 18th-placed Middlesbrough on 35 and should be able to find enough points to maintain their place in the top flight.
