Ben Pringle has become the second player in as many days to sign a new contract at Derby. The 21-year-old midfielder has put pen to paper on a deal that will keep him at Pride Park until the end of next season. The Rams also have the option to extend his stay for another year beyond the 2011/2012 campaign. "Ben has made good progress once again this season," manager Nigel Clough told the club`s official website. "He has stepped up a level since last season and we are looking forward to see him develop even further over the next 18 months. "He has had to be patient at times but when he has played he certainly hasn`t let anyone down. He is an important player to have in the squad." Pringle has made 15 appearances this season, four of them starts. He is captain of the reserve-team and scored in a win at Walsall on Wednesday. He follows forward Steve Davies in signing a new contract.
