Martin poised for Rams switch

Derby are set to sign David Martin on loan from Millwall when the emergency loan window opens on Tuesday. The winger was due to join the Rams before the close of the January transfer window but the move fell through, so he will now make a temporary switch to Pride Park until the end of the season with a view to a permanent deal. The 24-year-old could make his debut in Tuesday's clash against Newcastle if the deal is completed in time. "Everything is agreed. The window opens on Tuesday morning and we can register him up to noon as an emergency loan," manager Nigel Clough told the Derby Telegraph. "He'll be in the 18 against Newcastle United if it gets sorted. "It will be a loan to the end of the season but the permanent deal is agreed. It will be ideal to get him for the next two or three months so he can settle in." The Rams have also been linked with a move for Arsenal youngster Gilles Sunu and Clough added: "The player is happy to come and we have agreed the wages with Arsenal, so it is just a case of them getting it sorted."
