Injury boost for Derby's Davies

Derby County forward Steve Davies has received positive results after a scan on his injured leg. The 21-year-old who normally plays as a midfielder but has started the season playing as a striker, was injured in Saturday's win against Plymouth. Davies had a scan on Monday and it showed there was no serious damage. "The scan showed only slight damage, so its something we can treat here with our medical team," Derby manager Nigel Clough told the club website. Davies was forced off six minutes into the second half of the victory against Plymouth Argyle. "It is good news and the lay-off should be short-term rather than long-term," Clough added.
