Injuries clearing up for Rams

The opening-day Championship victory over Peterborough has been followed by deflating back-to-back defeats to Rotherham in the Carling Cup and Scunthorpe in the league. Injuries to key players has not helped Clough's cause in the first week of the campaign. Defenders Shaun Barker and Dean Leacock, midfielder Paul Green and forwards Kris Commons, Steve Davies, Chris Porter and Rob Hulse have all been absent at some stage. Clough said: "We hope there is some light at the end of the tunnel. "Just having the strength on the bench at Scunthorpe was good. We had Barker, Leacock, Hulse and Commons on there. That all helps and we want it even stronger. "It's a good sign to have five or six who think they should be in the first team on the bench."
