Glick backing for Clough

Chief executive Tom Glick insists Nigel Clough`s position as Derby manager is safe despite the club`s ailing Championship campaign. The former Burton boss has come under fire following Saturday`s 4-1 defeat to Scunthorpe. It was the Rams` third straight home loss and prompted some fans to suggest Clough and his backroom staff were not up to the job on a local radio phone-in. Derby are just five points above the relegation zone but Glick insists there will be no knee-jerk reaction. "A year ago we were convinced we made the right decision [appointing Clough] and we're still convinced," Glick told BBC Radio Derby. "We are building something that will be consistently successful at a high level over an extended period of time and while we are in a rough patch right now we are not in a rush to build something as quickly as possible. "We are incredibly disappointed with our last three home results but we are not going to let that cloud our judgements or our convictions."
