On loan Derby County midfield maestro George Thorne has hinted to national newspapers that his career is uncertain and there is a possibility that his experience with the Rams last lesson could see him part from parent club West Bromwich Albion.

The Albion Academy product has enjoyed eight reappearances where he's scored two goals, one of which he scored against Doncaster in a 2-0 win on Good Friday and was awarded man of the match, he quickly became a first team favourite for many County supporters and hailed by fellow players such as Chris Martin who said in the DailyStar that "since the arrival of George we have seen a magnificent impact from him". Thorne is yet to return to the Baggies and one can only imagine that there will be definite and immediate discussions with the board over his future with West Brom.

Born in Chatham, Thorne joined West Bromwich Albion's Academy in 2005. He made his debut in a 4–0 win over Sheffield Wednesday in 2009–10, coming off the bench for Simon Cox. At 16 years, 328 days, this made him the youngest player to represent Albion in a senior competitive match since Bobby Hope in April 1960. In January 2010, Thorne signed his first professional contract with Albion. Since then he has gone on to make ten first team appearances for the Baggies. While having small loan spells with Portsmouth, Peterborough and recently his spell with Derby. Earlier in the season Thorne admitted that he wants to play in the Premier League and that could be with Derby providing he can help them to promotion, however with the Rams loosing to QPR in the play-off finals of the Championship at Wembley, Throne if he decides to stay and discuss terms with County instead of re-joining the Baggies in the top flight of English football he will have to settle for another Championship title battle next year.

West Brom while already releasing ten players including the likes of Liam Ridgwell and Zoltan Gera, therefore they should be looking to keep this impressive young midfielder. However with the recent arrival of Craig Gardner and current first team central midfielders Claudio Yacob, Youssouf Mulumbu and Graham Dorrans, Thorne may find it hard to get regular starts.

The club are due to start pre-season training in June so Albion and Derby fans will have to stand by and await his discussion.
