Dawkins set for Derby return

Simon Dawkins is expected to return to the Derby squad against Wigan.

Dawkins, who has missed the last five games due to a hip injury, played an hour for the development squad at Wolves on Wednesday, scoring twice. The forward could now be involved at the iPro Stadium on Saturday, most likely on the bench.

With Jamie Ward (thigh) still out, Johnny Russell and Jordon Ibe look set to continue in the wide roles.

Meanwhile, midfielder Paul Coutts played the full 90 minutes for the development squad following more than a year out - first with a dislocated kneecap and then a hip problem. The Scot could feature against Fulham in the Capital One Cup next week.

Ivan Ramis is Wigan's latest injury concern.

The Spanish central defender was forced off in the 0-0 draw with Millwall in midweek - Latics' fourth successive draw - and he could be replaced in the team by Rob Kiernan if skipper Emmerson Boyce (ankle) remains sidelined too.

Wales international Emyr Huws has missed the past two games with another ankle injury sustained over the international break while fellow midfielders Ben Watson (broken leg) and Chris McCann (knee) only made their comebacks in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Tuesday afternoon.

Roger Espinoza, who boss Uwe Rosler has revealed wants a move away from the DW Stadium, made his first appearance since August on Tuesday, while fellow Honduran Maynor Figueroa could continue after rejoining the club on loan.
