McClaren to ring the changes

Derby head coach Steve McClaren will look to make the most of his squad for the visit of Charlton in the Capital One Cup.

The likes of Zak Whitbread, Leon Best and Omar Mascarell could all be at the forefront of McClaren's mind for the second-round tie.

Whitbread made his first start of the season in the previous round at Carlisle, replacing Jake Buxton at the heart of the Rams defence. Striker Best and midfielder Mascarell are yet to start a game since completing their respective loan moves from Blackburn and Real Madrid.

Midfielder Paul Coutts has not fully recovered from a hip-flexor strain.

Charlton will check on goalkeeper Stephen Henderson, who has missed the last two games with a hamstring injury.

Youngster Nick Pope will continue to deputise if regular number one Henderson misses out again.

Right-back Chris Solly will be rested as his knee will not stand up to two games in three days while boss Bob Peeters is likely to make further changes.

Morgan Fox, Lawrie Wilson, Joe Gomez, Michael Morrison and Franck Moussa were all drafted in for the first-round win over Colchester and could be involved again.
