Crosby salutes Savage achievement

Derby coach Gary Crosby paid tribute to a "fantastic achievement" from Robbie Savage after the midfielder scored in the 600th appearance of his career in a 3-0 win against Preston. Rams skipper Savage rounded off a fine performance from the Rams with a late penalty after goals from Dean Moxey and Alberto Bueno. Crosby described Savage's performance as "average", but went on to heap praise on the 35-year-old. Crosby said: "I thought Sav was average! Perhaps that's being a bit cruel but we will leave it at that! He obviously didn't think he was, he thought he was the best man again. "He plays with his head a lot more these days and he will always be influential in some way in a game. "He's had to change his game at times and he's perhaps a bit better footballer than we realised when we first came here - 600 games is a fantastic achievement."
