Commons out of Centenary Cup clash
The 25-year-old Scotland international, who has reportedly been a transfer target of Celtic, has struggled with a tight hamstring since returning from the summer break.
"Kris is not available for Saturday which will probably mean he does not go down to the south coast with us next week," Rams manager Nigel Clough told the Derby Evening Telegraph.
"He will need to stay at Moor Farm to catch up on the week or two of training he has missed."
