Clough: Vaughan deal looks unlikely

Vaughan has recovered from the knee injury that cut short his initial loan spell at the Championship club earlier this season.[LNB]A deal was agreed in principle for him to return to Pride Park this month once he was fit but the 21-year-old has featured for Everton in their last six games and scored in wins against Burnley and Carlisle.[LNB]"That makes it less likely and it is looking less likely the closer we get to the end of transfer window," Clough told the Derby Telegraph. "We talked to Everton on Friday and every week we give them a call to see if anything has changed, which it hasn't at the moment.[LNB]"So we are planning without James, as much as we would like him to come back. That is all we can do. We think he can do a good job for us. We saw enough in the two games he played to suggest he could. He is scoring goals for Everton now, which proves the point.[LNB]"We still haven't given up hope yet. Even if it goes past January 31, we can still take him a week into February on a three-month loan."[LNB][LNB]
