Clough upbeat despite defeat

Nigel Clough could not hide his disappointment after his previously in-form Derby side squandered a lead to lose 2-1 at Burnley - but the Rams boss insisted positives could be taken from the game. Derby went ahead in the 19th minute thanks to Luke Moore's deflected goal but Burnley hit back when Tyrone Mears found the corner with a fine 25-yard free-kick. A winner then arrived in the 90th minute when Jack Cork glanced home a Wade Elliott cross from the right. "It was a good performance in lots of ways, lots of hard work, but I'm just disappointed we contributed by giving away the free-kick," said Clough. Laws and Clough were team-mates at Nottingham Forest in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and the latter was pleased to see the pressure ease on the Clarets boss. "I'm delighted for Brian as well," he added. "I couldn't believe when I arrived here they told me he was under pressure. If there's anything good to come out of it, I'm delighted he got the win."
