Derby manager Nigel Clough has spoke of his desire to retain the services of in-form defender Russell Anderson beyond the end of the season. The 31-year-old has played a vital part in Derby's recent unbeaten run which stretched to four matches following their weekend win over Leicester. Clough told the club's official website: "We've been delighted with Russell ever since he arrived, he's the type of player and character you want around in the Championship. "He's had to wait for his chance but he's taken it and if he continues playing as he has been he will keep his place at least until the end of the season. "As soon as we establish ourselves in the Championship next season we can look to make decisions. He's solid, reliable, trains hard and we've not had a minutes' trouble with him. "If you could have 16 professionals like Russell in your squad, you would. He doesn't moan, he does his job and he's a terrific professional."
