Manager Nigel Clough has stressed the importance of this summer for Derby.
After three seasons of battling towards the bottom end of the npower Championship, Clough insists it is time the Rams improved their league position.
The former Burton boss is on record as saying he wants to sign as many as six new players during the close season and he wants to finalise the deals as soon as possible.
"It's a big time for us this summer. We have had a few seasons of survival and now we need to take it on to the next level and improve," Clough told the club's official website.
"Anyone who has seen us this season will agree that half a dozen players to improve us will make a big difference.
"Now the season is over, we hope to get some deals done as soon as we can. Supporters want reassurances from the club that we are going to go through with what we talked about in terms of bringing better players in."
