Clough: Crowd should have booed louder

Nigel Clough urged his Derby players to take responsibility for a dire second-half display as they crashed to a fifth consecutive home defeat. Rams fans turned on Clough and booed the side off after they were beaten 3-1 by injury-hit Doncaster at Pride Park, their seventh defeat in their last eight home games. Clough hauled off recent signing Theo Robinson just after Sharp's second goal, with Alberto Bueno replacing him, and Derby fans reacted with boos and chants of 'you don't know what you doing'. A dejected Clough said: "Sometimes we can come here and explain what we think, but I think there is a time for them (the players) to come and explain it as well, their own performances. "Did they think they did their jobs? Did they think they were on the money? We've been criticised for being too honest in public about their performances, so it's probably best to come from them. "The difference is the crowd applauded us off when we lost to Hull a week ago, they certainly didn't do that after this game and rightly so. I thought they should have booed more. I thought they should have booed a little bit louder."
