Buxton close to comeback

Derby defender Jake Buxton is recovering well from the groin and stomach problems that hampered his first season at Pride Park and could be back in training within four weeks. Buxton made just 19 league starts last season for the Rams but is keen to play a fuller part this term. He told the Derby Telegraph: "I went to see one of the best groin surgeons in the country and I am grateful for what the club has done for me. "The surgeon believes he has repaired the problem and hopefully I'll be good to go in four weeks which is brilliant news for me. "I've been given a rehabilitation sheet by the surgeon and the plan in the next four weeks is to stick to that. "Then it will be a case of doing what the other lads have done in pre-season, but on my own, although there might be one or two others joining in by then, like Stephen Pearson and Miles Addison, who are also recovering from operations."
