Boss relieved over Brayford bid

The Alex turned down a bid from the Rams for their player of the year earlier this summer and although Nigel Clough is still keen to sign the full-back, the Championship side are yet to lodge a new offer. Thordarson told Crewe's official website: "It is all very quiet and that is the way I like it. I am relieved actually, because I don't want to add to the speculation regarding my players. "There has apparently been interest in one but the player has just got on with it and has taken himself forward in a positive manner. We have just gone on with things. "You can never be sure of anything in this game but I do not want to lose any of my players ahead of the new season. I would be happy if we hear nothing."
