Barker wants to make amends

The 27-year-old was penalised for a tackle on Stephen Quinn that led to Sheffield United inflicting the Rams' first home defeat of the season on Saturday. Boss Nigel Clough singled out Barker, a £900,000 summer signing from Blackpool, for criticism for giving away the free-kick which resulted in Matthew Kilgallon's goal with 10 minutes remaining at Pride Park. Barker has vowed to learn from his mistake and told the Derby Evening Telegraph: "The manager came in at the end of the game and said that had cost us. "That's fair enough and I will try to learn from my mistakes. I will take these things in the right way. "I was disappointed to give away the free-kick and to concede the goal but that shows I want to do well for the club."
