Ross Atkins could be handed his Derby debut in the final game of the season against Reading. The 21-year-old goalkeeper has provided the back-up to on-loan stopper Brad Jones in recent weeks. With Stephen Bywater on loan at Cardiff and Saul Deeney sidelined by a shoulder injury, manager Nigel Clough is considering starting the academy product at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday. "We did consider playing Ross against Bristol City last Saturday, and he will be in our thoughts again this weekend," Clough told the club's official website. "He is a very good young goalkeeper and he has a chance of playing at Reading. "In the last few seasons he has shown a real desire to go out on loan and get games under his belt, and he has improved over that time through the experience he has gained. "We will consider our options over the next few days, but Ross is certainly in contention."
