Mackie netted the only goals in the 82nd minute with a superb shot on the turn from 18 yards.[LNB]Luke Summerfield's 25-yard free-kick was blocked by the Derby wall but the ball fell kindly to alert Mackie and he drilled the ball into the right hand corner and out of the reach of diving Derby keeper Stephen Bywater.[LNB]The goal was Mackie's fifth of the season and secured Argyle's fourth home league win along with first clean sheet at home in the league this term.[LNB]Mariner revealed Mackie had been eager to return to action.[LNB]He said: "Jamie was champing at the bit to play after missing out for two games and then with last Saturday's game called off.[LNB]"With his energy he is an asset to the team and his goal was out of the top drawer.[LNB]"He put it right in the corner from 18 yards and on a pitch like that, it takes some doing to keep your balance and put the ball just where you want it - the keeper didn't have a chance.[LNB]"It was a goal worthy of winning any game. We believe you make your own luck and the lads are delighted to get points and move up the table again."[LNB]Derby boss Nigel Clough rued his side's missed chances which cost them dearly.[LNB]He said: "We are very disappointed to lose but it was a very good performance.[LNB]"It's strange that sometimes you lose and yet you play that well. We have hit the post and gone extremely close on many occasions - six or seven times - and I thought Rob Hulse had his best match in ages for us.[LNB]"But we did not get any luck in front of goal. Sometimes you lose and you are so low but there is no reason for the players to feel like that after tonight.[LNB]"We have got Forest at the weekend and I will take a performance like that - if we get the luck in front of goal."[LNB]First half chances were few and far between and play was not helped by a pitch that cut up from kick-off.[LNB]Derby winger Paul Green had the best early opportunity to break the deadlock but skied over after recalled striker DJ Campbell won the ball from Argyle debutant keeper David Stockdale, on loan from Fulham.[LNB]In a scrappy half, recalled Rams target man Hulse fired over from 18 yards on 22 minutes.[LNB]Argyle countered a minute later with home skipper Carl Fletcher volleying over from Kari Arnason's long throw-in from the right.[LNB]Summerfield tested County Bywater with a controlled 25-yard drive that stayed low and on target in the 31st minute.[LNB]Arnason - who recovered from a leg injury to feature - nearly put through his own goal as he cleared a pacy cross from the right from Green.[LNB]In first half stoppage time, Argyle's Kiwi target man Rory Fallon looped a header over from Chris Clarke's deep cross from the right hand touchline.[LNB]Hulse scooped a first-time shot on the run just over from 18 yards as he latched on to Stephen Pearson's pass down the left channel.[LNB]Mackie sent a shot wide of goal in the 55th minute after racing clear as Derby skipper Robbie Savage lost the ball in central midfield.[LNB]From Summerfield's corner from the left, Arnason headed just wide at the far post.[LNB]Derby countered again, with Hulse going close with a first time shot on the spin.[LNB]Green came closest to breaking the deadlock in the 72nd minute when his right foot shot from close range cannoned off the post with Stockdale floored having blocked sub Steve Davies' initial close range effort.[LNB]Hulse seemed set to score when he sent Stockdale the wrong way but the keeper stuck out his trailing leg and diverted the striker's eight yard strike.[LNB]The save proved vital as five minutes later Mackie struck the winner in front of a crowd of 7,996 which was Argyle's lowest home gate of the season.[LNB][LNB]
