Denmark coach Morten Olsen has admitted that Ebbe Sand is unlikely to be fit for the quarter-final clash with the Czech Republic on Sunday.
Sand is expected to be replaced by Peter Madsen if the Schalke striker fails to recover in time.
"He is unlikely to play against the Czechs and I am not saying that just as a ploy," said Olsen.
Niclas Jensen will definitely miss the game while there are also injury concerns over Daniel Jensen and Martin Jorgensen.
Kasper Bogelund is favourite to replace Niclas Jensen.
Olsen is well aware of the threat posed by the Czechs, particularly as they were the only team to win all their group games.
They were forced to come from behind in all three matches against Latvia, Holland and Germany, and even fielded virtually a reserve team against the Germans.
"We have witnessed some good games of football and I have noticed that the teams who play the most attacking football are the ones who have had the best results," Olsen added.
"The Czech Republic are a good example of this. They play good football and show they have a real desire to win the games.
"It will certainly be a good game of football."
The Danes go into the match in good form having drawn with Italy and Sweden and beaten Bulgaria in their three group matches.
