Wright close to Quakers exit

Darlington manager Dave Penney still expects striker Tommy Wright to eventually move to Aberdeen.

The 23-year-old forward has been linked with a move to Pittodrie for much of the summer, but for now he remains a Quakers player.

Penney does not expect that state of affairs to last for much longer though, telling the Northern Echo: "A fee's been agreed and he's agreed personal terms with Aberdeen. It's just a matter now of him getting fit.

"He's been up to Aberdeen to have part of the medical, but we always knew his knee wouldn't pass a medical and Aberdeen were aware of the situation.

"Once his knee is fit he will have the rest of his medical and he'll be away."
