Windass optimistic for new season

The pair have had to rebuild the playing squad this summer following the club's slide into administration, but with new owner Raj Singh hoping to complete his takeover, Windass is confident the good times lie ahead for the Quakers. Windass said: "Once we start to build that camaraderie at Darlington I'm sure it's going to be a good place for the players and management to be. "We've brought a few to the club who I think are good enough to play at this level and the next level and once we get them together and start to build a team spirit I think we've got plenty to be optimistic about. "I've got a lot of contacts built up from my time in the game and that's helped as we've tried to put a group of players together. "Colin is very laid back. He can be as tough as they come, but he's an understanding manager and I've played a long time and have plenty to offer in this role."
