Whelan starts for Darlington

Striker Noel Whelan is a surprise inclusion in the Darlington team for today's game with Barnet.[LNB] Since signing in October the veteran former Middlesbrough forward has made been struggling with a hamstring injury.[LNB] Both of his two appearances have been aborted due to injury, so today he aims to make it third time lucky against the Bees.[LNB] Whelan is one of three changes to the Darlington side which lost 2-0 at Northampton last week. Recalled is Ross Chisholm while winger Chris Moore makes his first start. Dropped are Mor Diop, Gary Dempsey and Curtis Main.[LNB] Due to heavy rain this morning the game was in doubt and only received the go-ahead after an inspection by referee Chris Sarginson.[LNB] Darlington (4-4-2): Redmond; Madden, White, Miller, Milne; Moore, G Smith, Waite, Chisholm; Purcell, Whelan.
