Darlington last night completed the signing of two players, including an international goalkeeper.[LNB] Kelvin Jack, who has 33 Trinidad and Tobago caps and played at the 2006 World Cup finals, has signed a one-year deal at The Northern Echo Arena.[LNB] The other new recruit is striker Chris Senior, who has joined from Altrincham, for whom he scored 15 goals in 40 games in the Blue Square Premier.[LNB] He has also signed a oneyear contract and the pair bring the number of signings made by Simon Davey up to five.[LNB] The manager has already brought in Jamie Chandler and Dominik Werling, as well as goalkeeper Sam Russell who, says Davey, will be competing with Jack to be the club's first-choice.[LNB] It will be between Kelvin and Sam to fight it out for the number one, that's what I want from them, said Davey, who has brought in 34-yearold Jack from Southend United, where he was out of contract.[LNB] I'm trying to create competition for places in all positions so I'm delighted to have two experienced goalkeepers who will bring the best out of each other.[LNB] As far as they're concerned it's throw the gauntlet down time. They'll be supporting each other but they'll also be challenging each other, too, which is healthy. They both want to be number one and they both want to succeed with Darlington, which is reassuring.[LNB] I want healthy competition for places throughout the squad and it's no different when it comes to the goalkeepers.[LNB] Jack has played in Britain since 2004, first with Reading, and was selected by Trinidad and Tobago for the last of their three games at the World Cup, after which he joined Gillingham.[LNB] He spent the second half of this season with Southend without making any appearances, while Senior has spent the last three-and-a-half years with Altrincham.[LNB] The 28-year-old, who scored 34 goals in 127 games at Altrincham, has also played for Scarborough and Halifax.[LNB] Davey said: Chris is well experienced at playing in the Conference so he'll bring a lot to the squad. He's a quick, aggressive striker who likes to play off a big man.[LNB] He scored 15 goals last season as a part-time player with Altrincham and he knows what it's all about, so he'll be coming to us as a full-time player. He wants to make a go of it and to progress, both as an individual and as part of a successful team.[LNB]
