Todd looking on the bright side
Enoch Showunmi headed home the only goal of the game in the 54th minute to secure the Yorkshire team's safe passage.
But after a 3-1 opening-day league defeat at Aldershot, Todd said: "It was a massive improvement on Saturday's performance and that's pleasing.
"The players showed a lot more belief and there were signs that we are starting to gel. It will take time because we have so many new players.
"Lee Thorpe was a handful for Leeds. He won a lot of balls and the partnership between him and David Dowson looks promising, they will get better the more they play.
"Leeds are a good side and we had to dig deep at times but we kept going and could have snatched an equaliser."
