Todd expecting tough challenge

Todd, who was recently coaching Danish side Randers FC, was named as Dave Penney's successor at the Darlington Arena on Wednesday following news that former chairman George Houghton had put a package together to bring the club out of administration later in the summer. But with finances still tight, and all but one of the playing staff available for transfers, Todd is expecting a tougher time than he had when he inherited a Bradford side coming out of administration in 2004. "I think it's tougher than that (Bradford) because there is going to be less players," the 60-year-old told the Telegraph & Argus. "But my experience in dealing with a club coming out of administration should put me in good stead. I know what the budget is and will just have to adhere to what the chairman has given me. "I'll probably look to bring in four long-term loans and have a squad of about 18 with two goalkeepers. There's a lot of work to be done but as long as I can get 15 out for the start of the season it will be fine."
