Todd: Dean is a big Windass-et

Published: 27 Jun 2009 - 11:13:08

Todd has taken over as manager of the cash-strapped League Two club and has persuaded Windass to drop down from the Premier League to join him as player-coach. The pair worked together for three-and-a-half years at Bradford and Todd is confident the 40-year-old's infectious attitude will help the Quakers get back on track after a turbulent 12 months. "I've kept in touch with Dean," Todd told the Northern Echo. "I spoke to him a bit during my time in Denmark and always told him if there was an opportunity to manage a club then he could come along and join me. "It's going to be Dean's first step into management but the real plus is that he is still capable of playing games and he will be a real asset to his team-mates. "He is a very good player and will also show players what is required. He is also a very good character, a bubbly personality which is what we need."
