Irish striker Tadgh Purcell opened the scoring but Billy McKay and Ryan Gilligan struck to give the Cobblers victory.[LNB]Staunton said: "I really feel for the players after that. They gave everything and deserved some return from the game. We had some good chances and their keeper pulled off some great saves.[LNB]"We had a stonewall penalty turned down. When a player raises his arms above his head and the ball hits it then that's a penalty."[LNB]He continued: "I told the players that it was the type of performance we need from now until the end of the season. The back four were solid and new keeper Shane Redmond had an excellent debut.[LNB]"If they can play like that in the coming weeks then they will get better returns."[LNB][LNB]
