STRAIGHT-TALKING Darlington midfielder Gary Smith was left to reflect on a horror show as they fell to their tenth away defeat of the season at Plainmoor.[LNB] Smith was brutally honest and revealed that there had been plenty of arguments in the Darlington changing room after the 5-0 humiliation.[LNB] Something's not quite right, said the midfielder, who picked up a second half booking. Everyone was down in the changing room, and everyone was arguing.[LNB] Our fans travelled a long distance, and expect some grit and determination, and that was sadly lacking.[LNB] What can you say about that performance Some of the things that went on in the game were terrible, and it was a horror show. It wasn't good enough at all.[LNB] Some of the mistakes that were made were schoolboy errors.[LNB] We didn't get to grips with Torquay early on, and failed to get stuck into them.[LNB] We didn't get in the sort of hard tackles that they might not have liked. We have to win first balls, but we didn't and that's what killed us.[LNB] We've got to pull ourselves together. We've lost against a team that is low down the league, and we've got to ask ourselves where we go from here.[LNB] Confidence is very low amongst the lads, but that will only improve by winning matches and by building on it from there. We must work hard for each other, and until we do, then results are going to get even worse.[LNB] There was worse news for Darlington with on loan defender Andrew Milne expected to be out for several weeks.[LNB] Milne was stretchered off just before half-time following a challenge he made on flying winger Jake Thomson, and the initial diagnosis suggests his loan spell from Leeds may be over.[LNB] It doesn't look very good at all, said manager Steve Staunton, who also revealed that defender Mark Bower damaged an ankle in the build up to the first goal.[LNB] Ian Miller might return to action against Northampton this Saturday if he recovers from his hamstring injury.[LNB]
