Quakers snare Foran

Darlington manager Dave Penney has not ruled out the possibility of two more players arriving at the club before next week after completing the loan signing of Southend United striker Richie Foran.

The 27-year-old joins the Quakers after struggling to impress at Roots Hall following his £200,000 transfer from Motherwell in January.

"Richie will give us extra attacking options and his versatility will be valuable in the lead-up to the very busy Christmas programme," Penney told Darlington's official website.

"It's possible that there will be one or two more new faces joining the squad before the loan deadline on 22 November."

Meanwhile, Shrimpers boss Steve Tilson hopes Foran can return to his best form during his time in the north-east, saying: "Richie needs to go out and get games.

"That's why we've let him go to Darlington and it will do him good."
