Darlington captain Steve Foster has admitted the Quakers' poor recent form has come as something of a shock.
Dave Penney's side appeared to be promotion favourites a month ago, but a dismal six-match winless run has seen them slip to sixth in the League Two table.
"It's disappointing to think that we're now looking for points to make sure of a play-off place," Foster told the Northern Echo.
"We've been up there all season, but now we've hit a bit of a bad patch and we've just got to dig deep.
"As soon as we get a result something will bounce for us and hopefully we'll be alright."
