    Quakers offered Clarke hope

    12 Nov 2008 - 14:09:42

Darlington have been given hope that they may be able to turn loan striker Billy Clarke's stay into a more permanent arrangement.

The 21-year-old has scored nine goals in 19 appearances for the Quakers since his arrival from Ipswich Town, although he is currently sidelined by a hamstring injury.

However, Town boss Jim Magilton is prepared to listen to Clarke if he wants to stay with the League Two leaders.

He admitted: "I would not do anything without having a conversation with the player first. So I will sit down and discuss it with him and go from there.

"He is enjoying his football and benefiting from being there, even if it is at a lower level.

"I'm so pleased for Billy. He is a lovely lad who is desperate to be a player and would love to come back to us and score goals for us.

"He has scored nine goals and he is flying, so we will take a view on him when we need to."
