Quakers hand trial to Thomas

Darlington boss Steve Staunton has handed a trial to Crystal Palace striker Simon Thomas.
The former Republic of Ireland manager is desperate to bolster a Quakers side that is rooted to the foot of the League Two table.
Palace's assistant manager Mick Jones said: "Simon's joined up with Darlington for a few days for Steve Staunton to have a look at him in their set up."
The 25-year-old has made only one first-team appearance for the Eagles and recently returned to Selhurst Park after spending a month on loan at Ebbsfleet United.
