Quakers to play Arsenal

Darlington will play Arsenal in the next round of the FA Youth Cup after they recorded an impressive win at Huddersfield last night.[LNB] Quakers' under-18s won 4-0 to set-up a third-round tie away to the Gunners, probably in the first week of December.[LNB] Last season, Huddersfield knocked Darlington out of the competition in extratime, but Craig Liddle's side gained revenge at the Galpharm.[LNB] We missed two or three chances, it could easily have been five or 6-0, said Liddle.[LNB] Apart from the first 20 minutes or so, when the lads were probably in awe of Huddersfield, as they're an Academy club, we were excellent.[LNB] The chance to play against Arsenal is fantastic for the team.[LNB] It was 2-0 at the break, with goals from Paul Grainger and Jordan Marshall, then Lee Collins scored twice in the second half, once from the penalty spot, to seal a comprehensive win.[LNB] Liddle added: I spoke to the Huddersfield manager Lee Clark after the game and he had no complaints, he said we fully deserved to win.[LNB] The young Gunners play their home games at Barnet's Underhill stadium.[LNB] Quakers' youth team require sponsorship for the Arsenal match, and Liddle said: We would like to prepare for game properly so we want to travel overnight and do it like the first-team would.[LNB] The team have earned the right to play Arsenal and they deserve the opportunity to be looked after properly.[LNB] Quakers boss Mark Cooper was unable to attend the youth team win as he was at Bootham Crescent, where he saw York beat Rotherham 3-0 in their FA Cup replay.[LNB] They will play Quakers at Then Northern Echo Arena in the second round a week on Saturday.[LNB]
