Quakers striker suffers injury blow

The former Leeds and Middlesbrough forward lasted just three minutes after stepping off the substitutes' bench in the home defeat to Northampton on Tuesday night.[LNB]Whelan replaced recent signing Gary Dempsey in the 78th minute, but limped out of the action in the 81st after suffering a recurrence of his hamstring injury.[LNB]The 35-year-old joined Darlington on October 8 in time to make his debut at Dagenham & Redbridge two days later, but was forced off in the 34th minute with a pulled hamstring and had been sidelined since.[LNB][LNB]
