Quakers still wait on admin exit

Quakers fans were hoping the club would exit administration this week when the 28-day appeal process into the club's successful Company Voluntary Agreement ends. But the club can only begin to buy and sell players again and compete in Football League competitions when handed back its Football League share. Although all outstanding paperwork and legal issues are expected to be a formality, the return of the club's Football League share is unlikely to be before Darlington's first game of the new season. The Football League board sits on the second Thursday of each month, five days after Darlington kick-off the 2009/10 campaign. But League officials gave chairman-elect Raj Singh verbal assurances earlier this week that they could not foresee any problems, while all the new players drafted in by manager Colin Todd and assistant Dean Windass during the summer have yet to sign contracts.
